Lubuk Larangan area is a PKU area of Indigenous people located in Subayang River located in Gajah Bertalut State, Batu Sanggan caliphate, Kampar Kiri district. Lubuk ban was established or confirmed as an area prohibited from taking fish in it in 1993. Until now, the Subayang River has been the only route for transporting people and goods using motorboats from the upstream and downstream of the river. This area has also been designated as Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Sanctuary since 2014.


In addition to protecting the flora and fauna in the river, the Lubuk Larangan area was developed to increase economic, social and cultural value for people living in the Subayang watershed, including for the development of natural tourism. Tourists will find natural conditions that are still intact and natural and socio-cultural conditions that are still strong to run the Customs and culture that maintain the sources of life in forests and rivers.


In the state of Gajah bertalut, there are two Lubuk Larangan, namely Lubuk Larangan Pemuda with an area of 1 Ha and Lubuk Larangan Ninik Mamak with 2 Ha. Lubuk Larangan is rich in food sources and biota such as Kijang Ayui (Labi-Labi), Baniang Konge (Turtle), Baung fish. When the time comes to open the forbidden hole set by traditional institutions, the state community of old, young, women and children are involved and become a ritual that has its own charm.


The rules of utilization were agreed upon in negotiations, and supervision was carried out jointly by indigenous institutions ranging from Datuk Pucuk Gdangka Nagoru, the Ninik Mamak, Dubalang, and Mamak Kampung. especially with regard to the river that holds the rights and powers is the grandfather of the patiah, while the full authority on land is the grandfather of shoots.
